I was glad to join the Wawa team with Delegate Nick Allen for the grand opening of its new location in Rosedale! It was a pleasure to welcome Wawa to our community and celebrate this exciting addition to Baltimore County.

The morning was filled with excitement and community spirit. One of the highlights was watching the Hoagie Challenge, where local police precincts competed in a friendly contest. It was a fun way to bring people together and celebrate the occasion.

Congratulations to Wawa on its grand opening at 5401 Campbell Boulevard! Thank you to the team for the warm welcome. I wish them continued success as they become part of the Rosedale community.

I was grateful to join BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha of Nottingham for a school supply donation initiative benefiting students in District 8.
Our office was pleased to coordinate this effort with BCPS and Rekha Mausiria, Bhavesh Patel and the BAPS team. Together, we visited Red House Run Elementary School and Carney Elementary School to distribute school supplies and support students in our community.
Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed, and that starts with having the supplies they need to thrive in the classroom. I am thankful to BAPS Charities for its generosity and continued commitment to our local schools and families.
Strong partnerships and collaboration help us better support our students, schools and the broader community.

This morning, my office was proud to join the Baltimore County Public Schools community for the ribbon cutting of the new Deer Park Elementary School in Baltimore County.

This is a historic investment in our students and in the future of Baltimore County. At approximately $70.6 million, the new school is Baltimore County’s first net-zero elementary school, designed to produce as much energy as it consumes. The building features solar energy, geothermal heating and other energy-efficient technologies, while also expanding capacity from 431 to 735 students.

Congratulations to the students, families, educators and entire Deer Park community on this beautiful new school. I remain committed to supporting strong schools and making sure our students have the safe, modern learning environments they deserve.

I appreciated attending Tokyo Buffet's soft opening, meeting the owner, and enjoying the excellent food. The clean, welcoming atmosphere reflects the team's dedication and hard work.

I am particularly pleased that entrepreneurs are investing in Baltimore County, helping boost our local economy and creating opportunities for the community to come together.

Yesterday, October 5, marked Maryland’s Dashai Day, a recognition of the rich traditions and cultural contributions of our Nepali and Indian communities.
As we look ahead to this year’s Dashain festival, I am sharing this photograph from the year the bill was enacted into a law—a proud memory of the Governor’s proclamation and a meaningful milestone for our community.

This year, my thoughts are especially with families affected by flooding in Nepal. As we honor our heritage, let us also carry forward the spirit of compassion, unity, and service to those facing hardship.
I am grateful to everyone who helped make this recognition possible. May our traditions continue to bring generations together and strengthen the bonds we share as Marylanders. 🇳🇵🇺🇸
