CPA CLASS #34 – WEEK 5
EVOC / DRONE

Last Saturday, our CPA Class #34 had an exciting and hands-on experience featuring EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course). Class members had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with EVOC instructors:
• Major Reginald Harris
• Lieutenant Bill Higdon
• Detective Randall Fisher

Each member of the class was given the opportunity to experience firsthand how officers are trained to operate emergency vehicles safely, professionally, and under pressure. Participants were able to navigate the driving course while learning the importance of control, awareness, and decision-making during emergency response situations.

While class members were participating in the driving exercises, they also received a live demonstration of the department’s drone technology. Drone Operator Detective Joshua Ford demonstrated how the drone can safely monitor and track a vehicle from a distance while providing officers with valuable aerial support and real-time information.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Longview Heights Baptist Church for allowing us to use their parking lot for this demonstration and training exercise.

DUI UNIT 🌬️🌬️

🚗 TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT 🛻

Last week, our CPA Class #34 had the opportunity to meet with Lieutenant Bill Higdon from our Traffic Enforcement Division. Class members were introduced to our traffic enforcement strategies and learned how we reassess major accidents that occur within our city through accident reconstruction.

🍺🍻🍷 DUI UNIT 🌬️🌬️🌬️🌬️

Later that evening, Officer Taylor Lawson and Officer Briana Stuckey delivered an outstanding presentation on our DUI Unit. Participants experienced firsthand how DUI testing is conducted and even took part in driving scenarios using impairment goggles.

Let’s just say… their driving skills didn’t quite meet expectations

We would like to thank all of the officers involved for their time and dedication in providing our class members with a valuable, hands-on look at Traffic Enforcement and DUI operats.
