💙 The Life of an SEN Parent… 💙
One thing they don’t tell you about parenting autistic children is that no two days are ever the same… and neither are the conversations! 😂
This morning, I was very seriously instructed…
“Keep my bird, Mummy!” 🐦
There was no bird. 🤷♀️
But in their wonderful, imaginative world, there absolutely was. So, of course, I carefully “looked after” the invisible bird until it was safe to come home again. ❤️
The little moments that make you smile, even when life can be challenging.
Being an SEN parent has taught me patience, creativity, and how to see the world through a completely different lens. I wouldn’t change that for anything.
What I am incredibly grateful for is having a career that works around my family, rather than my family having to fit around my career.
This morning I could take my children to school without rushing, be there for the unexpected moments, and still come home to build my business.
That flexibility has been life changing for our family.
If you’ve ever wished for a way to earn an income that fits around school runs, appointments, family life and all the unpredictable moments that come with parenting, that’s exactly why I said yes to the UW opportunity.
It’s given me choices, flexibility and precious time that I can never get back.
Sometimes it’s not just about saving money on your household bills… it’s about creating a life that gives you the freedom to be there when your family needs you most. 💙
Has your child ever asked you to do something completely random that made perfect sense to them? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments! 😊👇
