Tonight, we showed up to support one of our candidates, Cari for Council, District 7 , because that is one of the reasons I was elected, to stand with and support our nominated candidates.

As we head into the final stretch, with early voting starting tomorrow and with just a few days remaining, let’s continue showing up, standing together, and giving our candidates the support they need to cross the finish line strong! 💪🏾🗳️

BALTIMORE COUNTY, 2026, BALLOT QUESTIONS - WHAT DOES EACH OPTION MEAN?

YES Vote FOR Question A

What it means: Six of the nine County Council members would have to approve changes to the Urban-Rural Demarcation Line, instead of the current five.

Pros:

*Makes the boundary harder to change.

*May provide stronger protection for farmland and rural areas.

*Requires broader agreement among Council members.

Cons:

*Could make some boundary changes more difficult to approve.

*May limit flexibility when future development or infrastructure needs arise.

NO - Vote AGAINST Question A

What it means: The current rule stays in place: five of the nine County Council members can approve changes to the boundary.

Pros:

*Keeps the existing decision-making process.

*Allows boundary changes to pass with a simple majority.

*Provides more flexibility to respond to changing development needs.

Cons:

*The boundary could be easier to change.

*May provide less protection against changes that expand development into rural areas.

*Does not add the proposed higher approval threshold.

IN SIMPLE TERMS:

YES: Require more Council support before changing the urban-rural boundary.

NO: Keep the current rule requiring a simple majority.

IMPORTANT: This question concerns changes to the URDL, not every zoning decision in Baltimore County. Other planning and zoning matters would continue to use the existing simple-majority rule.
