Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak and the UN's Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg discussed today in a telephone conversation the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena, military operations and peace prospects.
Bin Mubarak reiterated the government's full commitments to peace option, blaming Houthi rebellious militia for blocking peace efforts, refusing all regional and international good offices and proposals to stop fighting, establishing peace.
He detailed Mr. Grundberg on the deteriorated humanitarian situations and the Yemeni people's suffering, namely the IDPs in the governorate of Marib which has been subjected to Houthi militias' aggressive offense for more than a couple of years which further worsening the IDPs suffering.
The UN envoy restated that a negotiated political settlement is the guarantee for establishing fair and sustainable peace, urging all parties to collaborate to make the peace efforts successful.

Our country's ambassador to Ottawa, and Dean of the Council of the Arab Ambassadors, Jamal Al-Sallal, discussed with the Canadian Undersecretary for International Development, Ambassador Peter Mac Dougall ways to strengthen and develop the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in all fields, especially in the field of development and reconstruction efforts.
Ambassador Al-Sallal reviewed the latest developments in Yemeni affairs and its developments at various levels, stressing the Yemeni government's keenness to achieve lasting and comprehensive peace.
Ambassador Al-Sallal expressed our country’s thanks to Canada for its generous humanitarian support during the year 2021 AD, expressing his aspiration to increase humanitarian support and support the humanitarian response plan for our country in the year 2022 AD.
For his part, the Canadian official praised the Yemeni government’s keenness and quest to bring peace to Yemen, stressing his country’s support for Yemen and the peace efforts led by the United Nations through the UN Special Envoy to Yemen.

President of the Republic—Field Marshal Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi—Commander-in-Chief highly extoled the significant military victories realized recently by the government's troops in the ongoing battles against Iran-allied Houthi militiamen in different regions and frontlines battles.
He deeply appreciated the great sacrifices the military personnel have been making while battling Houthi rebels.
His remarks came in a telephone call he conducted today to the Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohammed al-Maqadshi, during which he got familiar with the latest developments about the combat operations in the different fronts.
President Hadi expressed appreciation for the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's key role in sustaining the Yemeni military in the battles against Iran-backed Houthi militants.

Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, participated in the World Youth Forum, as commissioned by His Excellency President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The forum, which was inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the presence of a number of world leaders, will continue until March 13, 2022 AD.
The forum is a global platform in which young people of different nationalities participate, to conduct a dialogue on international issues that concern the present and future of humanity.
The activities of the forum are scheduled to witness discussion and dialogue sessions, covering many political, environmental and health topics, in addition to issues related to reconstruction in areas that have witnessed conflicts, with the aim of foreseeing the future and discussing strengthening cooperation in facing common challenges.

The Yemeni government has welcomed Saudi Arabia’s statement released on Thursday which called for expediting the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in Yemen and criticized the Southern Transitional Council’s breach of it including by declaring sovereign appointments of ambassadors.
The Yemeni government said in a statement, “While welcoming the content of the Saudi statement, the Yemeni government renews it commitment to implementing the Riyadh Agreement with all its details and affirms that the deal is a significant step to unify all forces that oppose the Iranian control of Yemen…”
The government called on the STC to “cease all forms of violations affecting the state institutions, its recent measures, making up crises, … mobilizing military forces and smearing the state, the political leadership and the army…”
Saudi Arabia’s statement had called on the parties to the Riyadh Agreement, the STC and the government, to expedite the implementation of the deal and de-escalate tensions.
It said that the political and media escalation followed by the STC’s “appointment decisions” breach what has been agreed upon by the two parties.
The Southern Transitional Council had appointed ambassadors to the UN, the EU and major world countries in violation of the agreement.

Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh received Sunday French Ambassador to Yemen Jane Mary Safa on latest developments and mutual relations between the two countries.
Vice President praised French positions supporting the legitimacy and efforts of French friends in relief and humanitarian activities.
He reviewed a number of issues and topics associated with realizing peace and continuous cooperation of the legitimacy with UN efforts amid Houthi militia’s stubbornness responding to Iran’s decisions.
He pointed out to a number of crimes committed by the rebel militia for complicating military, economic and humanitarian conditions, crimes like targeting civilians and displaced people camps in Marib by rockets and drones.
He also pointed out to efforts exerted for finalizing implementation of Riyadh Agreement and keenness of the internationally-recognized government to accomplish it and its rejection to obstacles and escalation, which will mainly affect efforts for regaining the state and realizing peace in the region.
For his part, the French diplomat renewed his country’s support to efforts of realizing peace and implementing Riyadh Agreement, pointing out to mutual relations between the two countries in different fields.

President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi sent Thursday congratulation cable to his Chinese Counterpart Xi Jinping on the 100th Ceremony of Establishing Chinese Communist Party.
” It gives me pleasure to express to your Excellency heartfelt wishes on the 100th Ceremony of establishing the Chinese Communist Party, which has the significant role of Chinese development and realizing progress and prosperity to friendly Chinese people, in addition to its active contributions of boosting international security and stability,” said President Hadi in the cable.

Yemen’s Foreign Minister has asserted that dialogue based on the three locally and internationally approved three terms of reference will guarantee peace and coexistence among the different components of the Yemeni society.
In a roundtable discuss organized by Berghof Foundation here today, Ahmed Awd Bin Mubarak said the government is committed to achieving a sustainable peace that leads to building a country where real partnership prevails, not sectarian, dynastical or other supremacies.
The three terms of reference are the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue 2013-2014 and the UN Security Council resolution 2216.
