Wildlife Base Wildlife Base is committed to connect Ranchers! Wildlife Base (Pty) Ltd make ranching easier. We as ranchers like making life easier for ourselves.

Ranching has developed from a “donkey and a plow” to software and drones. As Bill Gates so elegantly put it: “I always give the most difficult job to the laziest people, as they tend to find the easiest way of doing it”. And that is exactly what Wildlife Base is all about. We would like to admit that there is in fact, a ranching community which is however not restricted to one town or province as it used to be. We at Wildlife Base like to believe that the whole South Africa’s ranching industry should be a community - a community who is connected and able to trade easily. And that is where we step in. Our aim is to connect ranchers in South Africa via applicable systems. A user friendly bade where one farmer should be able to meet another and commence in trade – a market where one buyer meets another. All this from the comfort of your home. We may buy computers, cars and even food online, why not be able to commence relevant trading digitally? The technology exists, allow us to make the most of it!

As we move closer to the final stage of the judging process, we are proud to once again introduce the five candidates for the 2026 WRSA Wildlife Rancher of the Year:

🌿 Sterrie and Piet Marais – Karoo Experience Safaris
🌿 Willem, Calla and Jan van Niekerk – Buffelcor

During September, the judging panel, accompanied by Saturn Media House, will visit the final three candidates, bringing the judging process to a close.

🎥 Over the coming weeks, we will be showcasing each of our five candidates through a special video feature. Keep an eye on our social media platforms as we share their stories, their operations and their contribution to South Africa’s wildlife ranching industry.

🏆 The 2026 WRSA Wildlife Rancher of the Year will be announced on 17 October at the WRSA Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony.
