YOUTH OF TOKOLOGO WIN
The Free States province has population of almost to three million people and has glaring poverty and unemployment figures, it is easy to feel overlooked as though one is but a statistic.
Today, 05 December 2022, Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela accompanied by MECs for Free State Department of Health , Montseng Tsiu, Public Works and Infrastructure, Tshidi Koloi and MEC for Sport Arts Culture and Recreation, Limakatso Mahasa is rolling out a the Fourth Industrial Revolution Digital Skills Learning Programme in Hertzogville. This mega programme will be upskilling a whooping ten thousand young people across the five district of the province.
Office of the Premier together with The Education, Training and Development Practices -Sectors Education and Training Authority ( ETDP SETA) has against this worrying background generated a programme that goes a long way to bridge the skills gap, create new opportunities for many young job seekers, leaving in despondency, poverty and unemployment.
The ETDP SETA officially presented the Digital Learning Skills Programme, a national learning programme scheduled to take place over 8 months. The sole service provider in the form of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is making it possible for hundred (100) young people from Tokologo municipality's three (3) towns to participate in this programme virtually and in contact through provision of tools of trade that are included in this projects package. Beneficiaries are each receiving a laptop, wifi modem, data and a monthly stipend of one thousand five hundred rand (R1500.00) Ultimately, upon completion of the learning programme, they will be awarded a Higher Certificate in Business Management from UJ in addition to their new found skill in technology and overall community development.
Mr Clifford Mokoena, Free State Provincial Manager for ETDP SETA shared some words of encouragement and well wishes with the eager crowd as the put pen to paper in acceptance of this life changing opportunity.
Mr Mokoena explained how smooth it is
for them as a SETA to partner with the office of the Premier on such ventures due to the offices vast knowledge of their communities.
Premier Sefora Ntombela who was flanked by three MECs from her cabinet did not miss the opportunity to thank the ETDP SETA as well as implore plans to further skill the youth of our province hand in hand with them.
"The work done by ETDP SETA is encouraging to say the least, to this many can attest, we look forward to building a skilled Free State together with you."
The Premier went on to encourage the beneficiaries to keep their eyes on the prize and complete the full 8 months of this programme.
"The one thing that we can give you and nobody can ever take from you is education. Allow yourself to be taught and use this opportunity to make learning a habit in your life, ke a leboha."

Angel Maw Cooking Studio is a -based cooking studio owned by Chef Angel Mawonga - a dedicated food connoisseur whose passion for cooking started at an early age preparing food for her family. This passion grew into love and later resulted in her pursuing her journey in the industry.
Established in 2021, Angel Maw Cooking Studio caters to all, young and old, ranging from kiddies classes to housekeepers classes. The cooking studio's classes are aimed at being fun, interactive and inspirational.
