Have a Blessed Easter Weekend
Dear valued customer.
Due to the terrible conditions of the tap water in Bloemfontein we had to close our shop doors for 2days. After we have replaced out membranes 6 months ago (that should only be changed after 5 years) we have to replace all our membranes and filters again and get a full service. Attached video you will see all of the dirt that our system filters from the tap water. Thank you for your patience and support.

Water Update
21 November 2017
13:00
Please take note that the burst pipe has now been removed. Contractors are busy preparing the ground for the new pipe.
If everything goes according to plan the new pipe will be installed at about 15:00 this afternoon.
It will take approximately 20 hours to lay the pipe and then another 12 hours to fill the line, after which they will pump water to Bloemfontein.
Water can be expected on Thursday, 23 Nov 2017 and the City's water should stabilize by Saturday, 25 Nov 2017.
We will continue to request that water tanks be placed at specific locations throughout Mangaung.
Kind regards
DA Mangaung Caucus
WATER CRISIS UPDATE
MONDAY 20 NOVEMBER 14H00
Dear resident of Mangaung:
The main water pipeline feeding Mangaung burst on 16 Nov 2017. Mangaung estimated a restoration time period of 36 hours initially.
Unfortunately, shortly after this repair was completed, the pipe burst again on (Sat, 18 Nov 2017). Another estimation of 36 hours was predicted and work progressed according to plan.
Unfortunately shortly after the water reached the reservoir at approximately 8:20 am this morning a third pipe burst, which resulted in Bloemwater giving the instruction at 12:30 that water be stopped from being pumped to the reservoirs.
At this stage the damage has not been assessed yet, thus a time frame cannot yet be determined.
To add to this the reservoirs feeding the Northern parts of the city are also at dangerously low levels.
As it stands at the moment the entire city will most likely be without water by tonight.
Please note that the situation can most likely continue for the rest of the week, and we urge residents to please take the necessary precautions.
It is the responsibility of the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality to keep the public informed, but this is unfortunately not being done, therefore we, the DA councillors are in constant communication with Bloemwater and the metro in order to ensure that water tanks are provided and to keep you updated as information is received.
Regards
DA Mangaung Caucus
