Are you ready to grow your farming journey, strengthen your skills and become part of a growing community of farmers?

NoluGrow is excited to open applications for our new 2026/2027 Farmer Development Programme cohort.

Through the programme, participating farmers will have access to structured agricultural learning, practical development, mentorship and technical support, farm planning, enterprise development, market-readiness support and opportunities to connect into the wider NoluGrow farming ecosystem.

Dear Prospective Farmers 🌱

Applications for the next cohort of the NoluGrow Gauteng Farmer Development Programme 2026–2027 will officially open on 16 September 2026 and close on 30 September 2026.

This next intake is limited to 50 farmers across Gauteng.

The programme is designed to support aspiring and active farmers through a structured 12-month development journey, including farmer development training, technical and agronomy support, digital learning, farm monitoring, market access support, enterprise development, and ongoing mentorship.

Applicants should be:

Based in Gauteng ( and nearby regions such as Sasolburg and Parys, Deneysville, eMalahleni (Witbank), Delmas, Rustenburg, Potchefstroom, kwaMhlanga and Brits)

- Between 18 and 45 years old
- An aspiring or active farmer
- Have access to suitable land and a reliable water source
- Be committed to participating in the full programme
- Be willing to learn, engage, keep records, and actively develop their farming enterprise

NB: There is no payment required to apply.

Green spaces shouldn't only belong in parks or wealthier neighbourhoods. They belong in our townships, homesteads, and communities too.

A tree can do more than just stand there. 🌳 It can give us shade, help cool our surroundings, support cleaner air, and bring life back into spaces where we live.

But greening is about more than just trees.
When we bring trees, food production, and productive green spaces into our homes and communities, we create spaces that can support well-being, resilience, and dignity.

Because a greener community isn't just a nicer place to live — it's part of building a stronger one. 🌱

How old is the oldest tree you’ve ever seen? 🌳

South Africa is home to some truly remarkable indigenous trees — trees that have survived generations of changing seasons, landscapes and life around them.

The Sagole Baobab in Limpopo is one of them. A living reminder of just how much nature can teach us about resilience, biodiversity and working with the environment around us. 🌱

But there’s a bigger question for us as farmers:
