Official: COSAS Free State joins millions of young South Africans in commemorating Youth Day, a historic day that honours the courage, sacrifice and revolutionary spirit of the youth of 1976 who confronted the brutality of apartheid and altered the course of our country’s history.✊️🖤🤍

IN PICTURES: Today, COSAS PEC/PWC Member Comrade Tebogo Hlabirwa joined a postering program of the African National Congress in Zamdela, Sasolburg (Fezile Dabi). This is in preparation for the 2026 Local Government Elections Registration Weekend of 20 - 21June 2026 to ensure that eligible voters register to participate in the 202 Local Government Elections.

The Congress Of South African Students (COSAS) in the Free State province will host a Provincial Fundraising Gala Dinner which will mark the 47th Anniversary of the organization. The Gala will feature former leaders of the organization, current leaders, leadership of the progressive youth alliance and the mass democratic movement at large.

The President General of COSAS, Comrade Kamogelo Nkosi will deliver a keynote address at the COSAS Free State Anniversary Celebration Rally set to be held in Welkom, Matjhabeng in Sipho Mutsi region. This rally will mark the 47th Anniversary since the founding of our organization. Save the date!!!

The Congress Of South African Students (COSAS) will convene in Bloemfontein for its Local Government Elections Lekgotla. The Lekgotla is designed as a high-level educational seminar to sharpen the organizational capacity of our lower structures with its pillars being to unpack the constitutional mandate of local government with a specific focus on Metropolitan municipalities in service delivery, a technical briefing on the IEC operational procedures including voter registration and the integrity of the ballot and lastly to formulate a strategy to ensure high youth turnout and informed voting in our municipalities.
