Our boys residing at the centre participated in street outreach with our staff, helping distribute food and engage with those living on the streets. This experience has been invaluable in teaching empathy, kindness, and the importance of giving back.

An egg is never just an egg. 🥚
Thanks to the generous support of Môreson Pluimvee Boerdery, our centre regularly receives egg donations that help us prepare delicious meals for the boys at the centre and provide much needed nutrition for children living on the streets.
But these moments are about more than food. When we share these meals, we create space for connection. Sitting together, talking, laughing and simply being present helps us build trust with the young people we serve. It is in these simple moments that relationships grow stronger and where they see, once again, that they are cared for.

Small humans, big emotions. 💛
Over the weekend our social worker did an emotional awareness program with our boys, helping them learn how to identify, accept and regulate their feelings. By giving them the tools to understand their emotions, we are empowering them to navigate life with greater confidence, resilience and self-awareness.

Late afternoon yoga with John-Willy Pelser — a moment to slow down, breathe, and care for both mind and body.
We are deeply grateful for the volunteers who walk alongside us in building a better world for our children. Their selflessness, time, and energy make so much of our work possible. Together, we create spaces where our boys can grow, heal, and thrive. 💛

Our team is ready when it matters most. ❤️
Our staff recently completed a First Aid course, strengthening their ability to respond to medical emergencies — both at the Child and Youth Care centre and out on the streets.
Every new skill learned helps us care better for the children and young people who rely on us. Their health and safety will always remain our top priority. 🚑✨

Most of February was all about rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck into a BIG clean-up at our Child and Youth Care Centre 🧹✨
This year, our focus is on strengthening our organisational capacity — and we started by creating a more conducive, inspiring space for both living and working at the centre. From sorting through our clothing storeroom to reorganising our education centre and sports equipment, it’s been a full week of hard work, teamwork and fresh beginnings!
A heartfelt thank you to Mobi Skips for generously giving us a massive discount on a skip for the entire week — your support made this possible!
We’re also excitedly awaiting the restoration of a second-hand container kindly donated by Free State Metals, which will help us complete this phase of our clean-up campaign.
Next up… the garden! 🌱
If you’d like to roll up your sleeves and join us (and the boys), we’d love to have you. Let’s build beautiful spaces — together.

We’re so proud to introduce the newest member of our team… Elizabeth 🚗
Named by our staff, Elizabeth is more than just a vehicle. She’ll be taking our boys to school, clinic visits, court, and home visits. After more than a decade of sharing just one vehicle between five staff members, this is a milestone moment for our organisation. Thanks to the generous support of Kinderfonds MAMMAS (The Netherlands), we can now expand our reach and respond more effectively wherever we are needed.
Elizabeth is not just a car — she is access, opportunity, and care in motion. 💙

Reunification celebration! When the journey of reunification between a child and his family begins, we hold onto the vision of the end goal — but we don’t control the timing or the road ahead.
Together, father and son climbed mountains, walked through dark forests, and weathered stormy seas to rediscover themselves and each other.
Today, we celebrate a devoted, responsible father and a remarkable young man stepping confidently into a bright future.
What a profound honour it is to witness — and celebrate — a journey so bravely travelled.
