Ward 41 Mogodu Monday Brings Community Together for Food, Engagement and Dialogue

15 September 2026

The ANC Ward 41 Branch, under the Madibeng Sub-Region, hosted a Mogodu Monday community engagement on 14 September 2026 at 13:00 at Lucky Shop, Beverly Hills, bringing community members, branch activists and local residents together for food, interaction and discussion.

The gathering combined a traditional communal meal with an opportunity for residents and community structures to engage directly on issues affecting the area. The initiative created an informal environment in which community members could raise concerns, share experiences and participate in discussions about matters requiring attention.

The event also included Door to Door and information gathering, with volunteers engaging residents and recording issues raised by households. This approach is intended to strengthen communication between the organisation and the communities it serves and ensure that matters raised at grassroots level can be properly documented and followed up.

The atmosphere was characterised by strong community participation, with residents and volunteers joining together in a spirit of fellowship. The event demonstrated the value of creating accessible spaces where people can interact beyond formal meetings and discuss matters affecting their everyday lives.

Mogodu Monday was therefore not only about food it was about creating space for community dialogue, listening to residents and identifying practical issues that require attention.

The Ward 41 Branch thanks the residents, volunteers, organisers and community participants who contributed to the successful gathering.

ANC Ward 41 Engages Faith Community in Strengthening Community Relations

13 September 2026

The ANC Ward 41 Branch, Madibeng Sub-Region, today conducted a church visit at iQanda Iomhlaba Church in Hebron, as part of its ongoing programme of engaging communities and strengthening relations with the faith-based sector.

The visit brought together ANC activists, community members, church congregants and local leadership in an atmosphere of unity, fellowship and constructive engagement. The programme provided an opportunity to connect with members of the congregation, listen to community concerns and reinforce the importance of working together in addressing challenges affecting our communities.

The ANC recognises the important role played by churches and other faith-based organisations in building strong families, promoting social cohesion, supporting vulnerable members of society and contributing to the development of communities. Ward 41 remains committed to maintaining meaningful and respectful engagements with faith-based institutions and community structures.

The visit further demonstrated the spirit of unity, renewal and community mobilisation that continues to guide the ANC's work at ward level. We believe that meaningful change cannot be achieved by political structures alone, but requires partnerships with communities, churches, civil society and other stakeholders.

The ANC Ward 41 Branch thanks the leadership and congregation of iQanda Iomhlaba Church for welcoming the delegation and for the spirit of fellowship extended during the visit.

Together, we continue to build stronger communities and a better tomorrow.

STATEMENT ON THE TRAGIC DEATH OF TSHOLOFELO SIBANYONI

24 August 2026

The ANC Ward 41 Branch Leadership expresses its profound sadness and shock following the tragic death of Tsholofelo Sibanyoni, affectionately known as Tsholo, a resident of Block E, Hebron.

We are deeply disturbed by reports that Tsholofelo was found deceased in the vicinity of the Hebron Taxi Rank in the early hours of this morning. The circumstances surrounding her death are deeply concerning and have understandably left the family, friends and the broader community devastated.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the Sibanyoni family, her loved ones, friends, neighbours and everyone who knew and cherished Tsholofelo. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family during this extremely painful and difficult period.

We note reports that members of the community may have heard a disturbance during the early hours of the morning. We therefore appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything, heard anything, or possesses information that could assist the investigation to urgently come forward and share such information with the relevant law-enforcement authorities.

We call for a thorough, impartial and urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tsholofelo's death. If foul play is confirmed, those responsible must be identified and face the full might of the law.

As a Ward, we cannot allow violence against women and members of our community to become normalised. Every resident has the right to live safely and with dignity. We therefore call on the community to remain vigilant, support one another and work together with law enforcement to ensure that justice is served.

At this difficult moment, our thoughts are first and foremost with the Sibanyoni family. We ask the community to respect their privacy and dignity while they come to terms with this devastating loss.

Tsholofelo was one of our own. Her loss is a loss to the entire Ward and community.

May her family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

May the soul of Tsholofelo Sibanyoni rest in eternal peace.

WARD 41 MANDELA DAY | MAKING EVERY DAY A DAY OF SERVICE

In the spirit of Nelson Mandela's legacy, Ward 41 came together to serve our community through meaningful action.

Our volunteers and community members rolled up their sleeves to repair potholes to improve road safety. Clean public spaces and promote a healthier environment. Engage with residents and support community initiatives. Demonstrate that service to the people remains at the heart of everything we do.

Mandela taught us that "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others." Ward 41 has answered that call through action, unity, and community spirit.

We extend our sincere appreciation to every volunteer, community member, and stakeholder who dedicated their time and effort to making Ward 41 cleaner, safer, and better for all.

Together, we are building the Ward 41 we want to see.
