WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION (BRITS AND ENVIRONS, OUKASIE, SONOP, LOSPERFONTEIN)

Madibeng Local Municipality wishes to inform residents in the affected areas (as mentioned above) of a water supply interruption.

Following the shutdown of the Brits Water Treatment Works (WTW), the migration to new pumps experienced technical faults, resulting in insufficient water being conveyed to meet demand and maintain reservoir levels.

To manage water demand, the Brits town reservoir has been closed to allow it to recover and build the necessary capacity. The reservoir outlets will be reopened at 06:00 on Sunday, 7 June 2026.

Engineers and contractors are continuing their investigations and efforts to improve the performance of the pumps.

The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience that might be caused by the interruptions.
