HAPPY BOSS’S DAY, MR DIRKS! 💚

Today, we take a moment to celebrate and appreciate a very special leader — our principal, Mr Dirks! 🌟

Although you only joined the Brooklands family at the beginning of this year, you have already made such a meaningful difference. Your dedication, fresh ideas, passion and commitment to moving our school forward have certainly not gone unnoticed. 💚

Leadership is about more than a title. It’s about inspiring others, leading by example, supporting those around you and creating opportunities for growth. In such a short time, you have already shown us just how much you care about the future of Brooklands Primary.

Thank you for the time, energy and heart you pour into our school, our learners and our staff. We see your efforts, we appreciate your hard work, and we are excited about everything that lies ahead under your leadership. 🌱✨

From your entire Brooklands family, Happy Boss’s Day, Mr Dirks! We are proud to have you leading the way! 💚💛

A huge congratulations to Raywin Green, Jayden Van Wyk and Rowan van Rooyen, who proudly participated in the Cape Town Sh*to-Ryu Karate Championship this past Saturday!

These three talented learners delivered fantastic results:

Every chess champion starts with a first tournament, and Mason Peters has officially made his opening move!

Mason proudly represented Brooklands Primary School at the Friendly Chess Tournament hosted by Aristea Primary School on 5 September 2026.

Competing against skilled players for the very first time, Mason embraced the challenge, had plenty of fun and walked away with valuable lessons! 🧠♟️

His biggest takeaway? 💭

“You can’t always predict your opponent’s next move, but you can think ahead and find ways to block their strategy.”

What a fantastic lesson in strategic thinking, patience and perseverance!

🏆 Well done, Mason! We’re incredibly proud of your courage to take on a new challenge and represent Brooklands. Remember, every great chess player learns one move at a time!

Keep making those smart moves! ♟️✨
