SHOW UP. LISTEN. FOLLOW THROUGH.

Not every Ward 8 concern can be solved overnight. But no resident should feel that there is nowhere to turn.

Community work is about listening, following up and helping residents find the right route to an answer.

Which part of Ward 8 needs attention this week?

11 days to go.

On Wednesday 4 November, Ward 8 gets to choose who represents us.

Your vote matters. Please make the time to vote.

You will receive two ballots:
• Ward ballot: make one X next to your candidate
• PR ballot: make one X next to your party

Vote at the station where you are registered. Bring your green ID book, smart ID or temporary ID certificate.

Check your voting station: on WhatsApp the IEC: 060 088 0000

Ward 8 needs a councillor who will show up, listen and work.

A week in the life of an aspiring DA candidate? Buckle up. 💙

Early mornings. Long days. Meetings. Walkabouts. Hooting at robots. Community events. Loads of laughs with friends who have become part of this journey.

The best part is that every person beside me is a volunteer. They give their own time, energy and heart because they believe each Ward can be even better.

This dream is not mine alone. It is ours.

And if you hear us coming… hoot for the DA! 🚙📣

Four locations today across Ward 3 and Ward 8.

Loads of smiles, waves and hoots. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, shared a concern or simply gave us encouragement.

It is good to be out in the community, meeting people where they are.

KNOW YOUR VOTING RIGHTS | ASSISTANCE TO VOTERS WITH DISABILITIES

Voters with disabilities, including blindness or other visual impairments, have the right to receive assistance when casting their vote.

A voter may choose a companion aged 18 or older to assist them at the voting station. The companion must not be a candidate or an agent.

If the voter does not have a companion, the Presiding Officer may assist, in the presence of two agents and one accredited observer, if available.

🔐 Remember: Anyone assisting a voter must respect the secrecy of the ballot and may not disclose any information that could compromise how the voter cast their vote.

Everyone has the right to participate in elections independently, with dignity and without discrimination.

Know your rights. Know your vote.

I understand why people are tired of politics.

When people fight, make promises and disappear after the election, it is easy to feel that voting changes nothing.

But local government is personal. It is the streetlight outside your home, the burst pipe, the missed bin collection, the dangerous intersection, the development next door and the municipal account you cannot get answers on.

You do not have to love politics.
But your vote decides who must stand up, follow up and keep pushing when Ward 8 needs answers.

On 4 November, make your voice count.

Showing up matters.

Today, the Ward 8 DA team got together for a clean-up at De Oude Spruit Park.

Litter changes how people experience a public space. It affects pride in an area, safety and whether families feel comfortable using the park.

Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time in the heat.

Community work is about more than talking about problems. It is about getting involved and making a visible difference.
