Badisa Trio Kraaifontein recently concluded another life skills programme with Grade 5 learners at Simonsberg Primary School. 🧡

The programme covered important topics such as values, emotions, self-care and caring for others.

One of the highlights was the final activity, where each learner wrote a letter of affirmation and encouragement to another group member. This meaningful exercise encouraged learners to uplift one another and helped each child feel seen, valued and appreciated. 🫶

🧡 Baie dankie aan NGK Welgemoed wat twee van ons pleegkinders met pragtige nuwe klere en skoene bederf het. Julle omgee bring nie net praktiese hulp nie, maar ook vreugde, waardigheid en hoop. Ons waardeer julle!

Ons kan nie hierdie belangrike werk sonder die ondersteuning van ons gemeentes en gemeenskappe doen nie. Dankie dat julle saam met ons ’n verskil maak in die lewens van kinders en gesinne!

Badisa Trio Scottsdene, in collaboration with Warrant Officer Louise Strydom and Sergeant Meisenheimer, presented an informative session to the Foundation Phase learners of Watsonia Primary School. 🧡

The session focused on helping children understand the different forms of abuse, recognise when something may be wrong, and know how and where to seek help if they or someone they know is experiencing abuse.

By equipping children with knowledge, we empower them to speak up, seek help and understand that they have the right to feel safe, protected and respected.

Together, we are building awareness, strengthening child protection and working towards safer communities where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Every child deserves to be safe. Every voice deserves to be heard. Every report matters. 🧡

Standing together in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness 🩷
The Badisa Trio Kraaifontein team is wearing pink in support of every woman affected by breast cancer. Those currently fighting, those who have overcome it, those who continue to face each day with courage and hope, and those we remember with love. 🫶

Together, we stand in awareness and support, reminding every woman that she is not alone.

Early detection saves lives. Know your body, look out for changes and seek medical advice if something doesn’t feel right. Regular screenings and early medical attention can make a life-saving difference.

Let’s keep spreading awareness, supporting one another and holding on to hope. 🩷

Help Us Give Annie Hope for the Future 🫶
For the past 10 years, Annie has been in foster care, having entered the system when she was just a baby.

Her young life has been marked by significant physical and emotional trauma, which has also affected her cognitive development. Today, important and difficult decisions need to be made about her future, decisions that could shape the path of her life.

Annie deserves every opportunity to reach her full potential.

To ensure that the decisions made are truly in her best interests, we would like to arrange a professional child assessment to better understand her needs. Following the assessment, we hope to provide her with therapeutic support to help her navigate the changes ahead and give her the emotional tools she needs to move forward.

The cost of the assessment and therapy is approximately R6,000. 🧡

We are reaching out to our compassionate community to help us raise these funds for Annie. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to giving her the support she needs.

Sometimes, changing a child's life begins with one person choosing to care. Together, we can help Annie face the future with greater understanding, support and hope.

As a fellow Badisa programme, Alta du Toit does incredible work caring for and supporting persons with special needs. It was lovely to come together, lend a helping hand, and make our surroundings a little brighter.
