I know we are in but I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the Western Cape Education Department officials who have been working so hard to get our Technical Schools Revitalisation Programme off the ground. 🛠️

Thank you for your dedication and innovation in changing the way we deliver technical education for our learners.

And a big thank you to the principals and teachers for being an integral part of this initiative!🙌

You can almost hear the sighs of relief across the province as over 82 000 matric candidates wrote their final Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, or Technical Mathematics papers today.

While I love Maths, I know that it can be a daunting subject for many learners. That's why I am passionate about interventions like the Western Cape Education Department's High Flyers programme with KutlwanongCareer101, that's aimed at improving learning outcomes in Maths and Physical Science.

The progress we are already seeing in this programme is the result of the hard work by WCED officials, principals, teachers, tutors. Thank you for your sacrifices and dedication!

Thank you to the India in South Africa (Consulate General of India, Capetown) Ms. Ruby Jaspreet, for the invitation to join the Diwali celebrations at the V&A Waterfront this weekend.

Diwali is a celebration of hope, togetherness and new beginnings that is cherished by many communities here in the Western Cape and around the world.

It was a wonderful evening of culture and connection, and a powerful reminder of the diversity that makes our country so special.

One of the most rewarding parts of visiting schools is hearing directly from learners about how their lives are changing.

At Spine Road High School_2023 - I met Cynthia and Tariq, whose Mathematics and Physical Sciences marks have improved significantly through the of the High Flyers Programme delivered by KutlwanongCareer101 in partnership with the Western Cape Education Department.

Even more encouraging is how the programme has transformed their attitudes towards learning.

Thank you to Principal Mark Fairbairn, the dedicated teachers, the WCED officials and partners for investing in our learners and their futures.
