🎉 Celebrating Heritage Through Food, Culture and Community! 🎉

Town Centre Library marked Heritage Month with a beautiful display of cultural and heritage items that reflected the diversity of our community.

The highlight of the day was the delicious selection of traditional dishes prepared by the Friends of the Library. Guests enjoyed tasting tripe and beans curry, stywe pap with sausage stew, oumense onder die kombers, samp and beans, vetkoek, malva pudding with custard, muffins, and other tasty treats.

As each dish was served, guests shared sweet memories and stories connected to the food, reminding us how culture and heritage are passed down through generations. Wonderful music added to the festive atmosphere and brought everyone together in celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to the Friends of Town Centre Library and our Library Staff for their hard work and commitment in making the event a memorable success.

🌸 13 October – Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, highlighting awareness of advanced breast cancer and the importance of research and support.

🌸 Third Friday of October – Wear It Pink Day (widely observed internationally), encouraging communities to wear pink in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.

🌸 31 October – Conclusion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrating survivors and renewing the commitment to awareness and early detection.
