Working together to improve service delivery

How can government work better together to meet the needs of our communities? This is the focus of the Joint District and Metro Approach (JDMA) National Sector Engagement, taking place today, 29 October 2026, at the Provincial Disaster Management Centre in the Western Cape.

The engagement brings together government stakeholders to review progress, share community needs and discuss ways to improve planning and service delivery.

Discussions focus on how National, Provincial and Local Government can work together, align their plans and budgets, share resources and address challenges that delay projects. Stakeholders also discuss ways to improve support to municipalities and ensure that government projects deliver the intended results.

The engagement also provides an opportunity to review and update the District Implementation Plan, ensuring that government plans respond to community needs and that departments understand their roles and responsibilities.

Through better planning, shared resources and stronger partnerships, the JDMA aims to improve service delivery, reduce poverty, support economic growth and create job opportunities.
By working together, government strengthens its efforts to turn plans into action and make a meaningful difference in the lives of communities.
