A community keeping our roads and verges clean and free from litter

04/04/2025

Hello all 😄😄😄😄
We are going to tackle doing a clean-up on Belville Rd bridge tomorrow from 8am - weather permitting.
Even though Ethekwini has FINALLY done a great job with cutting back the bush, there's still alot that can be done to rid the pavements and gutters of weeds and trash.
ALL donations are as usual highly appreciated 🙏
Feel free to contact me on here or on pm.

Hallo all 😊
Any suggestions on where QTT could be used next for a cleanup ?? We busy compiling our next cleanup day....

07/12/2024

Salajees bridge underpass has been restored for pedestrians to walk comfortably and, more importantly, safely on their way
But also, it's also no longer a worry for motorists to have to worry about having to dodge people just trying to make their way through and passed the verges, which the municipality don't have the capacity to attend to.
THANK YOU'S go to Lizelle from Lily Cottage on Khorshed Road for her e-wallet cash-send of R500 in support of today's cleanup, and Bertha Pitout's R1000 donation AND her attendance to spray herbicide after the cleanup.
AND DSW's generous contribution of Springbok herbicide.
AND Mehmood from Salajees contribution of ice water for the workers today.
All-round a successful days work 😁😁😁

Hi all
So here's our challenge for this weekend.
We will be clearing back this whole area at the bridge at Salajees this Saturday morning from 8am.
The Parks Department have very generously donated to us a very effective poison for the weeds. This will be applied straight after the cleanup we do on Saturday.
Salajees have also agreed to supply cooldrinks / water for the workers on the day.
Please if anyone can still donate for payment of workers. The more workers the better the job of course..... and / or anything for them to eat.
Don't forget to give us a "hoot" to show your support 😁

Hallo all 😁😁😁..... it's been a while... 😜😜😜 Winter is over now and we've had some good rain more recently so we want to start "making Queensburgh great again" 🤭
We will start with the very centre of Malvern at the intersection of Ridley Park and River Plate Roads.
We want to do a clean-up of all the reeds that keep growing up and obscuring that turn-in.
We have blocked the early morning of this coming Saturday 30th November 2024 for it.
As usual we ask for possible donations (being money, food/cooldrinks for the workers to be hired on the day, or the time of anyone who'd like to get stuck in)

Here are some pics of the outcome of our day today 😁😁😁

After the great effort of Lynette and her team from FEEDSA to cut back and clear all the bush from this island a few weeks ago, we had the joy of sprucing it up with some plants and trees, clearing back the pedestrian pavement, stunting some of the old tree stumps and just generally cleaning it.
A very BIG thank you goes to all who contributed to making today such a great success :
Hans and Shirley Winkler, Michelle Nicol of Dale Road, Beulah Haasbroek of Wooten Road, Sonny Mudaly of Snaresbrook Road,
plus all those who stopped to donate cool drinks and just good company.
Not forgetting all the hooting we got from the passing traffic while we were working to cheer us on.
Here's to the next Tidy Town adventure !!
PS : if anyone has plants and rocks to contribute, we would happily accept and collect 🙏

Good evening all.
So we are all set for a great day tomorrow, Saturday 23rd March, from 8am
Previous votes have us clearing and planting on the island at Anderson Road opposite the BMX park in Northdene.

Shirley and Hans Winkler have donated plants for getting the "island" to start looking like a centerpiece we can all be proud of in our neighbourhood.

We're also going to have a good few labourers doing the harder work of clearing back the pavement and digging out alot of the tougher weeds.

Anyone in the area who would like to come out and see what we are doing please feel welcome.

As usual guys, we all know this costs "someone" to have it all done.... we are residents in Queensburgh just like you. We welcome donations of any sort - financial, tools, refreshments for the labourers

Let's get out there and make it happen 😁😁😁😁
