Today was an amazing day. The weather was good and the participation of those who made it was spectacular.
KWB would like to thank everyone, starting with Henry McAllister from McAllister Plant Hire for his contribution/sponsorship of the TLB and it's driver. We would never have gotten this far so quick just on manual labour.
Next we'd like to thank Roads for people like Thomas and Christopher and the rest of the staff who participated in this... we'd like to thank them especially for their support with the trucks.
From DSW, we'd like to thank Nelly for making it there and being a part of it. We'd like to thank Faizel, Nombusa and Anitha from South Durban Basin for also being a part of this.
We'd like to thank Grace from Community Mobilization for her sponsorship and support.
To people from the community... especially the ladies from Jonas and Croton Road. Your patience for this was well worth the wait.
To the youth from Grace Tabernacle... you were all amazing! Even after a meal you were all good and ready to go.
We'd like to thank Des D'Sa and SDCEA for allowing us to be a part of the Youth Development Program. Truly an honour.
To Dion and Human Settlements, thank you for all the black bags for the clean-up.
To ENGEN... We'd like to thank Bradley, Tina and the management of Engen for the meals supplied to all who were there. It REALLY helped keeping us going.
To the KWB team... you really did well today. You are all truly special.
To our CEO (Zarah Lee) and our CFO (Daniel)... you guys really blew us away by finding a treasure/jewel in what was being illegally used as a dump. All your hard work paid off.
To all who were using this space and other community spaces/areas as illegal dump sites, we ask that you please stop. Dumping illegally yourself messes up your neighbourhood. Paying a drug user/sugar-head to get rid of your dirt not only supports their bad habit, but it also messes up the neighbourhood you live in. Please stop! Put your dirt where it should be and leave the rest to those who you pay your taxes to.
A thank you goes out to Pastor John Kloppers for his contribution today.
And last but not least, a huge THANK YOU goes out to God for a beautiful day, for all the participants and for all their support and sponsorship.
A truly sincere thanks goes out to all who participated and sponsored this event. It was all truly appreciated.
