Africa!Ignite is a rural development agency dedicated to creating sustainable economic opportunities for rural communities, particularly women and youth. Through our flagship initiatives, including WOWZULU, WOWAFRICA and WOWBIZ, we connect rural craft producers and community-based tourism enterprises to broader domestic and international markets.
We are looking for a dynamic, commercially minded and results-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to lead sales growth, expand market access and strengthen the visibility of our Craft and Tourism sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong business development and marketing skills with a passion for South African craft, tourism, cultural heritage and meaningful social impact.
๐ Location: Durban / KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (hybrid, with local travel required). Johannesburg or Cape Town candidates will also be considered with motivation.

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง
โข A Bachelorโs degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business Development, Tourism Management or a related field.
๐ผ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐
โข At least 3โ5 years of proven success in sales, business development or marketing, preferably in artisan craft, ethical retail or tourism and hospitality.
โข A strong understanding of South Africaโs tourism and cultural sectors, corporate gifting, craft export requirements and social enterprise models.
๐ ๏ธ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ
โข A demonstrated ability to secure corporate sales and manage client accounts.
โข Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media management, Mailchimp/CMS and basic graphic design using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
โข Strong negotiation, budgeting and commercial pricing skills.

โข A valid driverโs licence and the ability to drive.
โข Willingness and ability to travel to rural project sites and trade events.
