Meals on Wheels' core business is to serve meals to the disadvantaged, aiming towards creating a hunger free South Africa. NPO 002-724
Meals on Wheels has been around for over 50 years! You may even have been involved as a volunteer. The very first Meals on Wheels in South Africa was a branch established in East London, in 1964. The purpose at that time was to provide meals to the elderly in the community. Now, today, Meals on Wheels KNFSA feed over 500 000 meals a month throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Freestate Area. 🌟 Community in Action 🌟
We're proud to share that MOWCS KNFSA has stepped up to support our neighbors in Tongaat who lost their homes to the devastating tornado on Monday, the 3rd of June, 2024. Since then, we have been delivering an average of 500 freshly cooked, nutritious meals every day to those affected, providing not just food, but also a bit of comfort during this challenging time. Together, we are stronger. 💪❤️

In a heart-warming gesture of compassion and community support, Meals on Wheels Community Services delivered a beacon of hope to the residents of Machibini and Somkhele in Mtubatuba area, on the 21st of November 2023. The organization distributed 100 food parcels generously donated by Hope Worldwide SA, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by the community following the severe weather conditions experienced on the 23rd of October 2023 that destroyed homes and left many families homeless.
