The African National Congress Youth League in eThekwini Region has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment through the successful implementation of the NYDA/NYS Programme Application Drive, Voter Registration Campaign, and Mayoral Youth in Business Challenge Competition Application Drive.

On Saturday, 06 June 2026, the programme was rolled out with great success in two communities across the region, reaching scores of young people eager to access opportunities aimed at improving their futures.

πŸ“ In Ward 101 at Cato Crest Community Hall, the programme was successfully led by the ANCYL eThekwini Regional Treasurer, Cde Slindokuhle Ndamase, who engaged young people on economic empowerment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, and the importance of active democratic participation.

πŸ“ In Ward 25 at Puntas Hill Park, the programme was equally successful under the leadership of the ANCYL eThekwini Regional Secretary, Cde Nokulunga Khuzwayo, where young people responded enthusiastically by applying for programmes and registering to participate in shaping the future of their communities.

The overwhelming turnout and positive response from young people in both wards reaffirm that the youth remain eager to seize opportunities that advance education, skills development, entrepreneurship, employment, and civic participation.

As the ANCYL continues to Reset @ 50, we remain resolute in our mission of building a generation of empowered, informed, economically active, and politically conscious young people who will lead the transformation of our communities and our country.

✊🏾 TAKE ME TO VARSITY: A RESOUNDING SUCCESS! βœŠπŸΎπŸŽ“

The ANCYL eThekwini Region, under the leadership of REC Member Cde Thembalethu Ntuli, successfully hosted the Take Me To Varsity: CAO Applications and Voter Registration Drive in the Khotho Mkhunya Zone at Somphukane High School and Isolemamba High School.

The programme empowered young people with access to higher education opportunities through CAO application assistance while simultaneously encouraging active citizenship through voter registration. Scores of learners were assisted in taking a decisive step towards their academic futures and becoming active participants in shaping the future of our democracy.

This initiative reaffirms the ANCYL's commitment to ensuring that no young person is left behind in the pursuit of education, skills development, and meaningful participation in society.

Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world, and today we helped many young people take a step closer to their dreams.

OILING THE MACHINERY FOR VICTORY! βœŠπŸΎπŸ–€πŸ’šπŸ’›

The ANCYL eThekwini Region successfully convened a meeting of all Zonal Conveners and Coordinators as part of strengthening and activating our local government election machinery ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The gathering served as a critical platform to align our structures, sharpen our organizational readiness, and reaffirm the central role of young people in driving the ANC's electoral programme. Through robust engagement, strategic planning, and collective commitment, the youth of eThekwini demonstrated their readiness to take their place at the forefront of community mobilization and voter activation.

As the ANCYL, we remain resolute in our mission to rally young people behind the banner of the African National Congress, ensuring that every ward, every branch, and every community is organized, mobilized, and prepared for victory.

The road to 2026 demands discipline, unity, and hard work. The machinery is being oiled, the ground forces are being assembled, and the message is clear: the youth are ready to campaign, organize, and defend the democratic gains of our movement.
