The Andries Tatane Cleaning Campaign is underway in Ward 46, KwaMashu North Central Sub-Region.

Secretary Siyabonga Zulu of the Sub-Region participated actively, joined by Branch Secretary Thapelo Phirimana, the full branch leadership, and dedicated fighters from the area.

This initiative honours the legacy of Andries Tatane a community activist killed during a service delivery protest and focuses on addressing local challenges like illegal dumping through community-led clean-up efforts, promoting cleaner, healthier neighbourhoods.

Great to see such strong leadership and collective action driving positive change in KwaMashu! Keep it up, team. 💪🧹

🚨 This Saturday, 21 February 2026 – EFF North Central Sub-Region hits the streets!

We're launching the Andries Tatane Cleaning Campaign in Ward 46, KwaMashu as part of our weekly to restore dignity and keep our communities clean.

In honour of Andries Tatane – the fearless fighter gunned down by police for demanding basic services – EFF cadres and residents unite to clean every street, remove litter, and show that real change starts from the ground up.

No more waiting on broken promises. We clean, we build, we fight! ✊🔴

Today, the EFF North Central Sub-Region Secretary Siyabonga Zulu was accompanied by ward 46 Branch Secretary Thapelo Phirimana and the entire leadership of the branch, conducted a courtesy visit to Silimela Primary School in KwaMashu.

This visit forms part of our ongoing Back-to-School programme, where we assess school operations shortly after reopening, identify immediate needs, and provide direct support to needy and vulnerable learners—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our focus remains on ensuring every child has access to quality education, proper resources, and dignity in the classroom, as we continue to fight for community upliftment and equality.
The EFF stands firm: No child should be left behind!

EFF KZN Provincial Secretary Cmsr Vukani Ndlovu, today hosted a Christmas lunch for Fighters and elderly citizens from North Central.

The PS also handed out groceries to various families in order to ensure that they have food on the table on Christmas.

family of Mama uMhlongo in Ward 46, kwaMhlongo (Dukemini VD), following the passing of her daughter.

-Exact location: uMhlongo homestead, Dukemini VD, Ward 46
-Attendance: COMPULSORY for all Sub-Regional leadership

-All comrades from Ward 46 and surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to attend .

Comrades, let us fill that homestead with red, black and green. Let the family feel the warmth of the movement that raised their child as one of our own.

No comrade’s family will cry alone as long as we still march under the same banner.

The EFF Mandeni Subregion leadership led by EFF KZN Provincial Secretary Commissar Vukani Ndlovu accompanying by Chairperson of North Central Sub-Region Cllr Asanda Nyembezi today visited Inkosi Ngcobo of Hlomendlini Traditional Council in Mandeni .

The purpose of the visit was to donate a cow and groceries to Inkosi Ngcobo, ahead of the traditional ceremony for maidens to be held on Sunday, the 7th of December 2025.
