IT'S A WRAP! 🎬 | Stakeholder Engagement: Western Cape

The NLC’s four-day Western Cape tour, hosted by the Western Cape Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Sport, has concluded. The tour included a series of stakeholder engagements, site visits and community interactions, highlighting the positive impact of NLC funding across the province.

🤝 Engagement with the Western Cape Government: Commissioner Ms Jodi Scholtz met MEC Mr Ricardo Mackenzie to discuss how the NLC and the Western Cape Government can engage to advance culture, arts and sport in the province.

🏏 Cricket SA: At Newlands, the Commissioner and Board Chairperson Mr Tembinkosi Bonakele handed a cheque to Cricket South Africa for the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The funds will be used for stadium upgrades in host provinces, and for cricket development and legacy projects in all nine provinces.

🏛️ Iziko Nelson Mandela Prison House: The final visit was to the house where Nelson Mandela spent the last 14 months of his 27 years in prison, from December 1988 until his release on 11 February 1990. It is now a National Heritage Site and is being restored to preserve South Africa's heritage for future generations.
