🎀 **THINK PINK, STAND TOGETHER! 💗 | BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH**

This October, the staff of **Gansbaai Library** proudly wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🌸🩷

We stand together to raise awareness, show support for those affected by breast cancer, honour survivors, and remember the loved ones we have lost. Every pink ribbon is a reminder that awareness, early detection, and support can make a difference.

🎗️ **Did you know? Breast Cancer Facts in South Africa**
💗 According to South Africa’s 2024 National Cancer Registry, **1 in 28 women in South Africa is at risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.**
💗 Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women across all population groups in South Africa.
💗 Early detection can improve treatment outcomes. Knowing your body, looking out for changes, and seeking medical advice when something doesn't feel right are important steps towards protecting your health.
💗 Breast cancer can also affect men, although it is much less common.

🌷 **Our message is simple:**
Check yourself. Know the signs. Speak up. Seek medical advice if you notice any unusual changes, such as a lump, skin dimpling, ni**le changes, or unusual discharge. Don't delay getting checked.

Let's use this month to encourage conversations, share knowledge, support one another, and spread hope. No one should face breast cancer alone. 💕

From all of us at **Gansbaai Library**, we stand in pink, united in the fight against breast cancer! 🎀
