Growing a Greener uMngeni: Planting Trees, Building a Legacy

We are incredibly proud of our recent tree-planting initiatives across uMngeni! In partnership with WESSA and DFFE, and as part of the 1 Billion Trees Programme, we have successfully planted trees across Zenzani Village, uMngeni Swimming Pool, Mpophomeni, and Currys Post Road.

A project like this thrives on community spirit, and we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this possible.
Huge thanks to Fairfield Dairy, Carl Landscaping, SANBI nurseries, and Nkosi Nursery for their generosity.

Thank you to every resident along Curry’s Post Road who donated trees, funds, time, and hands-on support.

Sincere appreciation to Old Halliwell Inn (in loving memory of Michael Uys), Bronwen & Mati Campbell, Quinton & Lisa George, Halliwell Park residents, Megan Loda, and Thalia Thain.

Enormous gratitude to Gaby and Rudi Benade, Andrew Carr, C. Frier, Myhill, Nienke, Dave Teichman, Dr D. Vilakazi, Ravenstijn, Simon & Tracy Woodland, and our anonymous donors.

A special acknowledgement to Dave Teichman for initiating and funding the start of the Currys Post project, and to Alex Hopkins and Ivan Clowes for their tireless time and energy.
