Breaking the Silence Around Mental Health

Psychiatrist Dr Juanita Subrayadoo from West Rand District Health Services today visited Rainbow FM to educate the public and raise awareness about mental health.

During the interview, she emphasised that mental health should not be a topic discussed only in private, but an open conversation where everyone feels safe and comfortable to speak freely without fear of judgement.

Mental health conditions do not define who you are. With the right support, treatment and care, they can be managed. Let us break the stigma, encourage open conversations and create a society where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength.

Your mental health matters. It is okay to speak up, and it is okay to ask for help.
