# Safety and Security Measures :
Dear Community members,
In light of the planned national protest action on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, we wish to reassure community members that comprehensive safety and security measures have been implemented to ensure the continued safety of our communities.

# Law Enforcement Deployment -
The South African Police Service (SAPS), City of Cape Town ( Traffic, Law Enforcement and Metro Police), Community Policing Forums (CPFs), Neighbourhood Watches (NHWs), and local security companies, will maintain a high visible operational presence throughout the area.
Additional deployments have already commenced, with resources focused on identifying and responding to any potential threats associated with protest activities.

# Peaceful Protest -
The constitutional right to peaceful protest will be respected and facilitated. However, all protest activities must remain within the boundaries of the law.

# The following will not* *be permitted:
• Any form of intimidation or harassment.
• Criminal activity, violence, vandalism, looting, or public disorder.
• Protestors wearing masks or any face coverings intended to conceal their identity.
• Protestors carrying fi****ms, dangerous weapons, or any object that may be used as a weapon.
Any person found contravening the law will be dealt with by law enforcement in accordance with applicable legislation.

# Neighbourhood Watch Operations -
All Neighbourhood Watch members are requested to remain vigilant and support law enforcement where required.
NHW members should be identifiable by wearing official Neighbourhood Watch identification or recognisable uniform.

# Incident Reporting Procedure -
Should you observe any suspicious or criminal activity, please report it immediately.

When reporting, ensure that you provide:
1. The exact location of the incident.
2. The estimated number of individuals involved.
3. Report emergencies immediately to -

In the true spirit of giving this festive season, the Lansdowne CPF was represented by its Chairperson at a meaningful community initiative led by one local business within the Lansdowne Precinct.

On Christmas Eve, the CPF Chairperson joined a local business owner in assisting with the preparation of 1 300 meals. In addition to supporting the preparation, the CPF also assisted with the distribution of meals within the Lansdowne community, ensuring that those in need were reached during this special time.

While this initiative was driven by the local business, the CPF’s involvement reflects continued support for community-led efforts that promote care, dignity, and unity.

A sincere thank you to the business for its generosity and commitment to making a positive difference in the Lansdowne community. 🎄🤍

🌭NHW Fundraiser Initiative🌭

Howard Williams Belthorn Rustdale Ratepayers Association Today’s Boerie roll initiative hosted by the Belthorn Neighbourhood Watch was a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together for a common purpose. The event not only created a family-friendly space for residents to connect, but also raised much-needed support for ongoing neighbourhood safety initiatives.

The Lansdowne CPF was proud to support this initiative and stand alongside the NHW members who continue to give their time, energy and resources to keep our community safe. Visible support, positive engagement and collaboration like this strengthen trust and reinforce the partnership between residents, NHWs, SAPS and the CPF.

Community-driven initiatives play a vital role in sustaining neighbourhood watches — from equipment and visibility to operational support. When residents support these efforts, they are directly investing in the safety and wellbeing of their own streets and families.

We thank everyone who attended, contributed and showed their support today. Together, we continue to build safer, stronger communities because safety is everyone’s responsibility.
