Mahikeng Local Municipality ANC Party Caucus

03/06/2026

⚫🟢🟡 It is now official. The Caucus of Mahikeng welcomes Cde Olebogeng Magano after the ANC's retention of Ward 2 in the By-Elections that took place on the 27 May 2026.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CLLR OLEBOGENG MAGANO OF THE ANC⚫️🟢🟡

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to ANC Councillor Olebogeng Magano on his swearing-in ceremony held today, 03 June 2026, at the Mahikeng Regional Court at 11h30.

This significant occasion follows the ANC’s victory in the Ward 02 by-election held on 27 May 2026. The election was necessitated by the untimely passing of the late Councillor Tshepiso Zela Motshabi, whose dedication and service to the people of Ward 02 will always be remembered.

Councillor Magano now assumes the responsibility of continuing the important work and developmental agenda that Councillor Motshabi championed for the community. We are confident that he will serve the residents of Ward 02 with commitment, integrity, and dedication.

As you embark on this new chapter of leadership, we wish you strength, wisdom, and success in fulfilling your mandate to the people. May your tenure bring progress, unity, and meaningful development to Ward 02 and the broader Mahikeng community.

Congratulations, Councillor Olebogeng Magano. We wish you all the best in your new role of leadership.

Forward Ever, Backward Never!⚫️🟢🟡

⚫🟢🟡 THE ANC RETAINS MAHIKENG WARD 2

The ANC Caucus of Mahikeng Local Municipality extends its deepest gratitude to the community of Ward 2 for the confidence and trust placed in the African National Congress during the recent by-election.

Your participation in the democratic process and your decision to vote for the ANC candidate reaffirms our shared commitment to building a municipality that serves all its people with integrity, dignity, and purpose.

We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to:
- The volunteers and canvassers who dedicated their time, energy, and resources on the ground, engaging with residents and ensuring every voice was heard.
- All ANC structures across branches, zones, and regions for their discipline, unity, and tireless organisation.
- Our alliance partners in COSATU and SANCO, and broader civil society formations, for standing with us in solidarity and purpose.

Your collective effort is the reason Ward 2 remains in the hands of the people through the ANC.

This outcome is not an endpoint, but a mandate to work harder. The Caucus pledges to uphold accountability, accelerate service delivery, and ensure that the needs of Ward 2 residents remain at the centre of our work in council.

We walk this path together. Thank you, Ward 2.
