Wild and Weird Wednesday!

This week, our pride of lions completely took center stage! Our camera traps captured these majestic cats getting incredibly close, curious, and delightfully playful right in front of the lenses.

Wild and Weird Wednesday!

This week, our rhinos completely stole the show! Our camera traps caught them getting up close, personal, and delightfully nosy with the lenses.

Welcome back to Wild and Weird Wednesdays!

This week, it’s all about the morning mood. Our camera traps captured some bleary-eyed early birds who clearly haven’t had their morning coffee yet and are not ready for the day to start.

Welcome back to Wild and Weird Wednesdays!

Last time, we caught the ultimate camera-hoggers making sure their good sides were on full display.

This week, our camera traps captured some pure, unfiltered midnight madness. These nocturnal locals are treating the bush like their personal stage.

The heartbeat of Lapalala Wilderness:

As the world celebrates World Rhino Day 2026, we look out over the 48,000 hectares of Lapalala Wilderness with a profound sense of gratitude and responsibility. As the very first reserve in history to introduce black rhinoceros on private land, these ancient giants are woven into our very identity.

Protecting them is a multi-layered promise. It lives in the footsteps of our incredibly brave field rangers patrolling the frontline day and night. It lives in the ground-breaking initiatives of the Lapalala Wilderness School, inspiring the next generation of conservation leaders. And it lives through our invaluable partnerships with allies such as SRP, IRF, CCF, AI2, BRR and MyPlanet.

Rhinos are not just part of our landscape—they are the soul of it.

Today, we celebrate their resilience and renew our absolute commitment to their future. Thank you to our community, our partners, and our supporters who make this sanctuary possible. Together, we are keeping the wild, wild.
