SASSA BRINGS INTEGRATED SERVICE DELIVERY TO WARD 19 IN MATATIELE
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), through its Alfred Nzo District Office, conducted a Service Delivery Activation in Ward 19, Matatiele, aimed at bringing essential services closer to community members.
The activation took place at SuperSpar in Matatiele, opposite the old Post Office, and brought together various government departments, financial institutions and service providers to improve access to information and services for local residents.
Matatiele Local Municipality, represented by Mayor Cllr Patrick Stuurman, formed part of the initiative, with the Mayor delivering the opening and welcoming remarks. He welcomed the participating departments, institutions and community members, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in bringing services closer to the people.
The activation brought together several stakeholders, including the Department of Social Development, the Department of Employment and Labour, Nedbank, Standard Bank, ABSA, The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) First National Bank (FNB), AVBOB, Vodacom and Alfred Nzo Community Radio, alongside SASSA and Matatiele Local Municipality.
The initiative provided an opportunity for community members to engage directly with participating organisations, access relevant information and seek assistance regarding the services they offer.
The activation highlighted the importance of collaboration between government departments, local government, financial institutions and the private sector in addressing community needs and improving access to essential services. By bringing different stakeholders together at one venue, the initiative aimed to make services more accessible, particularly to vulnerable members of the community.
Matatiele Local Municipality recognises the value of partnerships and integrated service delivery in improving residents quality of life. Through cooperation with government departments and other stakeholders, initiatives of this nature create opportunities for communities to access information, engage with service providers and learn about available support.
Residents are encouraged to participate in similar initiatives and make use of the services offered by government departments and partner organisations.
