Our Riverside CID maintenance team has conquered the heat this week, working hard to keep the Precinct safe, clean and looking its best. Here are a few snapshots of the team getting the job done!

This week’s maintenance highlights:

Removed 7 tons of illegally dumped wood and plastic from public space along the R37.

Repaired three road signs damaged by unknown trucks.

A big thank you to our maintenance team for their hard work and dedication to keeping Riverside safe and beautiful!

The Riverside Precinct is getting its very own indigenous plant nursery, Roots of the Reserves!

Situated just outside the Riverside Reserve, it’s the perfect place to visit after your Saturday morning parkrun.

Opening Day: Saturday, 24 October
Time: 07:00 to 10:00
Location: Wildberry Boulevard, across Curro Mbombela.
Payments: Card only

Bring the family, bring your four-legged friend and browse a fantastic selection of indigenous plants at great prices. While you’re there, grab a coffee, ice cream, biltong or a cold drink and make a morning of it!

The Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative is looking forward to welcoming you to Roots of the Reserves!

Another week of keeping Riverside precinct safe and looking its best!

Our Riverside CID maintenance team has been hard at work repairing and replacing road signage damaged in accidents across the precinct.

Waterfall Street: Replaced a chevron sign damaged by an unknown truck.

R37 Traffic Circles: Replaced damaged road signs at both the first and second traffic circles, restoring important signage to help guide motorists.

These may seem like small jobs, but maintaining road signage is an important part of keeping our roads safe and our precinct well maintained.

A big thank you to our hardworking maintenance team for their continued efforts to keep Riverside in good shape!

Spot 1 -Selfie board at the Riverside Reserve.
Spot 2 - Mandela Statue on Government Blvd.
Spot 3 - Riverside Mall Entrances.
Spot 4 - Radio Laeveld Selfie Wall.
Spot 5- The selfie kiosk at any of our Riverside events. Like our recent Heritage in Bloom Spring market at The Grove Riverside Shopping Centre or the Love & Light Market we had in front of Southern Sun Mbombela.

Whenever someone asks us what makes the Riverside Precinct so special, we like to point to the Riverside Reserve as just one example. And if you look at these photos from the Laeveld Enkelspore’s hike and picnic at the Reserve this past Saturday, you’ll see that they agree!

A few facts about the Riverside Reserve:

🌿 Entry is FREE.
📸 There’s even a Selfie Board at the entrance, so be sure to snap a photo!
📹 The Reserve is monitored by cameras, with panic buttons along the way.
🐕 Dogs are welcome, as long as they are on a leash.
🚻 There are toilets at the picnic area and the start.
🧺 There’s a lovely picnic area to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
🪑 There are benches at all the lookout points, perfect for taking a break and enjoying the views.
🐦 It’s a great spot for birding, and we even have a birding list. Email [email protected] if you’d like a copy.
🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴 You can walk, run or cycle the 5 km parkrun route, or explore the more scenic pathways towards the Nels River and waterfall.

And yes, it’s right here in Riverside, Mbombela, on Wildberry Avenue, the same road as Curro Mbombela.
