PASMA STUDENT UPDATE: NSFAS EXCEPTIONS AND ALLOWANCE PAYMENTS
PASMA is pleased to inform students that the majority of outstanding NSFAS exceptions have been resolved, particularly cases involving students who were under Gap Funding Investigation.
We welcome this progress, as we understand the uncertainty, frustration, and financial distress that unresolved funding matters have caused many students. We recognise the importance of ensuring that every deserving student receives the necessary funding support to continue with their studies without unnecessary disruptions.
Furthermore, we are pleased to inform affected students that their allowances are expected to be paid on 30 October 2026, together with those of other students, including their outstanding back pay. This is an important development for students who have been waiting for their funding to be resolved and for the financial support they are entitled to receive.
However, we acknowledge that there may still be outstanding cases requiring attention. As PASMA, we remain committed to advocating for students and ensuring that no student is left behind due to unresolved funding challenges.
We will continue to closely monitor the matter and engage with the relevant stakeholders until all outstanding cases have been addressed and affected students receive the necessary clarity regarding their funding status and payments.
Our commitment remains clear to defend students interests, hold relevant stakeholders accountable, and ensure that administrative delays do not compromise students academic futures.
