I want to speak directly to every survivor in KwaZulu-Natal: I believe you.

When someone discloses abuse, my call is simple - listen without judgement, respond with compassion, and respect their choices. We must never blame a survivor or pressure them to share more than they are comfortable sharing.

As Premier, I am calling on all of us to protect the privacy of survivors and help them access the support they need. Creating safer communities is a responsibility we all share.

If you or someone you know needs help, please call GBVF Support on 0800 428 428

Together, we end GBVF.

In today's digital world, online safety is no longer optional - it is essential.

As we are in the Cybersecurity awareness month and approaching the festive season I am calling on all citizens of KwaZulu-Natal to take charge of their digital security. Protect your personal information by using strong, unique passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, and staying alert to suspicious links and messages.

Think before you click. Verify unexpected requests. Never share sensitive information with unverified sources.

As your Premier, I want our province to be safe - both offline and online. Online safety starts with the informed choices we make every day. Let us protect ourselves, our families, and our future.

UKUTHULA AKWAKHI - SILENCE IS NOT THE SOLUTION

Gender-based violence and femicide must never be met with silence.

As the Provincial Government, we are clear: survivors are never to blame for the violence committed against them. Victim-blaming must be rejected and harmful attitudes must be challenged.

Through our campaign, we call on families, communities and institutions to stand together against abuse. Prevention is everyone’s responsibility.

Ukuthula akwakhi. Our response must be action.

If you or someone you know needs help, please contact GBVF Support: 0800 428 428

Together, we end GBVF.

Ending Gender-Based Violence and Femicide requires collective action.

The Provincial Government’s campaign is built on Five Pillars: Protect, Educate, Mobilise, Community and Lead.

Together, these pillars guide action to connect people to support, challenge harmful beliefs, encourage positive behaviour, strengthen community participation, and promote accountable leadership.

Leadership is about listening, engaging, and acting.

As Premier, I remain committed to strengthening community engagement, improving accountability, and ensuring that every resident of KwaZulu-Natal feels safe in their neighbourhood.

In line with this commitment, today I will be hosting the Premier's Crime Fighting Imbizo at Menzi High School, Umlazi.

Crime prevention is a collective responsibility. When we work together, we build a safer, stronger and more united KwaZulu-Natal.

Let us continue to work together for safer communities across the province.

Men must be at the forefront of the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). We cannot end this scourge without confronting harmful behaviours, challenging the abuse of power and holding perpetrators accountable.

Through our provincial government’s 90-day urgent interventions, we are strengthening collective action to protect women and children and build safer communities.

I stand with traditional leadership and our communities in advancing this call for change.
