🎓 GET READY FOR YOUR 2027 NSFAS APPLICATION!

Bergrivier Municipality, in collaboration with NSFAS, is bringing application assistance closer to our communities.

NSFAS officials will assist Grade 12 learners and out-of-school youth with their 2027 bursary applications:

The necessary forms will be available beforehand from the following Ward Councillors:

⚠️ IMPORTANT: All applicable forms must be collected and completed in full before attending the assistance session.

Please bring:

✅ Applicant’s South African ID or birth certificate and copies (facility to copy will be available)
✅ Parent, guardian or spouse ID and copies (facility to copy will be available)
✅ Proof of income — payslip for parents or guardian
✅ Completed and signed NSFAS Consent Form
✅ Declaration Form
✅ Disability Annexure and medical report, if applicable
✅ Orphan or Vulnerable Child Declaration, if applicable
✅ An active cellphone with a working number to receive the OTP
✅ An active email address

Please ensure that all copies are clear and readable. Smart ID cards must be copied on both sides.

Maak asseblief seker dat alle afskrifte duidelik en leesbaar is. Slim-ID-kaarte moet aan albei kante gekopieer word.

*CHANGES TO REFUSE COLLECTION: GREEN REFUSE BAG PORTERVILLE*

Bergrivier Municipality hereby informs residents of Wards 1 and 2 in Porterville that the weekly collection day for green bags will change from Wednesdays to Mondays, effective from January 2027.

The change is being implemented to improve operational efficiency and service delivery to the community.

The first Monday collection will take place on 4 January 2027.

Residents are kindly requested to take note of the new collection day and to ensure that their green bags are placed out for collection on Mondays from January 2027 onwards.

The Municipality will continue to issue reminders ahead of the implementation of the new collection schedule.

Bergrivier Municipality thanks residents for their cooperation.

*WYSIGINGS AAN VULLISVERWYDERING: GROEN VULLISSAKKE – PORTERVILLE*

Bergrivier Munisipaliteit stel hiermee inwoners van Wyke 1 en 2 in Porterville in kennis dat die weeklikse afhaaldag vir groensakke vanaf Januarie 2027 van Woensdae na Maandae verander.

Die verandering word ingestel om bedryfsdoeltreffendheid te verbeter en beter dienslewering aan die gemeenskap te verseker.

Die eerste Maandag-afhaling sal op 4 Januarie 2027 plaasvind.

Inwoners word vriendelik versoek om kennis te neem van die nuwe afhaaldag en om te verseker dat hul groensakke vanaf Januarie 2027 op Maandae vir afhaal uitgesit word.

Die Munisipaliteit sal voor die instelling van die nuwe afhaalrooster verdere herinnerings aan inwoners uitreik.

Bergrivier Munisipaliteit bedank inwoners vir hul samewerking.

*Beplande Onderbreking van Elektrisiteitstoevoer in Piketberg*

Neem asseblief kennis dat ’n beplande onderbreking van die elektrisiteitstoevoer na Piketberg sal plaasvind vanaf 23:30 op Vrydag, 02 Oktober 2026, tot 05:00 op Saterdagoggend, 03 Oktober 2026.

Hierdie onderbreking is noodsaaklik om die finale herbedrading van die paneel in die BUS-gedeelte by die Piketberg Hoofsubstasie te voltooi. Die beplande onderbreking sal die hele Piketberg-gebied affekteer.

Aangesien die elektrisiteitstoevoer moontlik vroeër hervat mag word, moet alle punte te alle tye as lewendig beskou word.

Ons vra omverskoning vir enige ongerief wat veroorsaak word.

*Planned interruption of electricity supply in Piketberg*

Please note that a planned interruption of the electricity supply to Piketberg will take place from 23:30 on Friday, 02 October 2026, until 05:00 on Saturday morning, 03 October 2026.

This interruption is necessary to complete the final rewiring of the panel in the BUS section at the Piketberg Main Substation. The planned interruption will affect the entire Piketberg area.

Kindly note that the electricity supply may be restored earlier than scheduled. However, all electrical installations should be regarded as live at all times during the interruption.
