During an election campaign program today DA activists and branded DA vehicle passed the Plettenberg Bay court while IPM supporters were outside with the IPM President waiting for the resumption of her court case around the alleged discharge of a fi***rm in public during December 2025.

This chance encounter has now been used by the IPM to suggest that the DA activists were there to support the IPM in the court hearings.

This is not true.

The DA in Bitou has never supported her actions around this incident and considers her behaviour to have brought Bitou Municipality as well as the current coalition into disrepute.

The DA has eagerly awaited the outcome of the court case as well as the Bitou Municipality Disciplinary hearings around this matter.

The onus is on the IPM as a party to discipline its members and keep them in line.

The DA supports the rule of law and expects the court case to follow its normal process to determine an outcome.

The DA in Bitou is disappointed that the President of the IMP has ignored the request to remove the post from their FaceBook profile.

The 6 Pillars of the Local Goverment Election 2026 DA Manifesto.

Professional Local Government
Water
Electricity
Crime
Health & Environment
Building Local Economies

The delivery on these promises will only be achieved when the DA governs outright with a 50%+1 majority.

Where the DA governs, municipaities work. This is endorsed by President Ramaphosa who told ANC councillors that the DA governs the best-run municipalities.

A reminder of the DA Local Election 2026 Manifesto.

Reduce Crime
Provide Basic Services to all
Fight Corruption
Create Jobs and grow the Economy

Giving the DA a 50% +1 majority will on 4 November will empower them to deliver on this.

Remember, even our president says that the best run municipalities are DA run municipalities.
