My special encounter yesterday: Angulate tortoise in the dunes of Robberg. Cute little chap. And did you know they grow to about 30 cm length, can live to 30 years and only become productive at the age of 10-12 years.

Pledge for donations

This is a baby Black Eagle. The nest she was in came crashing down on Friday during those 60 mph winds in the Northern Cape, and she unfortunately broke her right wing in the fall.
​Our friend Greg Lubner is flying out tomorrow morning from Cape Town in his own airplane to the Northern Cape to collect her and fly her to our airfield.
From there, we will rush her straight to our vets to get that wing sorted out.
​We already have 11 other fly-in patients scheduled for this week, but this little one is by far the most special.
​We are using this post to help raise funds to cover the fuel and rescue costs for her, as well as the rescue costs for the other 11 patients coming in. If you love that we rescue everything, everywhere, and would like to contribute a little toward their costs, any donation would mean the world to us!

have you or friends of yours lost a kayak during the floods in May this year? We have found one which is still waiting for its owner. Please send a pm with a description of what might be your kayak (e.g., single/double, colour/s, make/model etc.). Please also think of friends or neighbours not permanently living in Plett who might not be aware of their kayak having been washed away.

Did you loose your Malawi gardener? Maybe we should try to employ SA women instead. I could imagine that they might like that kind of work more than the local men ?? Just an idea, let me know what you think.
