The Afrika Mayibuye Movement takes direct inspiration from the Black Community Programmes initiatives, replicating their spirit in our own social assistance programmes, Mayibuye Medics, the principle of black economic solidarity, and multiple interventions our movement will continue to make. We honour Steve Bantu Biko by building on these foundations, adapting them to dismantle the neo-colonial remnants that still choke our people’s aspirations.’

Amakhosi from the former Transvaal province have announced that they are cutting ties with the MK Party.
They cited perennial disrespect by the party and its leader, former President Jacob Zuma, as their reason behind their decision to abruptly cut the ties with the party.
