Parents, caregivers, learners and school communities are reminded that 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 is a 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 for all public schools, as outlined in the official 2026 school calendar published by the Department of Basic Education South Africa.

This will be followed by 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Members of the public are warned against a fraudulent message currently circulating on social media platforms regarding alleged “Teacher Assistant Phase 6 2026 Intake” applications.

No official announcement has been made regarding applications for Teacher Assistants for 2026. Young people are urged not to share personal information or respond to unofficial advertisements claiming that applications are open.

The public is further encouraged to remain vigilant against scams requesting personal details, payments or application fees.

All recruitment updates and application processes will only be communicated through verified Department of Basic Education platforms and official government channels.

NO SPECIAL SCHOOL HOLIDAY ON 28-30 APRIL 2026

Kindly note that according to the official 2026 Calendar for Public Schools, 28, 29, and 30 April are normal school days. Learners in public schools are expected to be at their respective schools as planned.
