| On the final day of the Stockholm World Water Week, DDG Risimati Mathye held bilateral meetings between Interactive Dialogues A, E, and F to discuss the interlinkages between the respective areas of cooperation.

The bilateral meetings, providing an opportunity for the parties to engage on economic cooperation, institutional development, and capacity building between the two nations.

At the close of the ceremony, the leader of the delegation met with members of the delegation to convey gratitude - on behalf of the Minister and the Department - to the Chairs, Deputy Chairs, Chief Executives and members for their support and the work undertaken throughout the engagement.

It was also an opportunity to say farewell and acknowledge the strong sense of teamwork, mutual support, and utmost respect demonstrated throughout the programme.

From driving high-level policy discussions to championing youth innovation, the team leaves inspired and ready to turn global insights into practical actions back home.

The Head of South African Delegation and Department of Water and Sanitation DDG Mr Mathe, accompanied by Chairpersons of Boards and their accompanying board members, CEOs of South African water entities attend the Stockholm World Water Week 2026.

The South African Water sector attendance has been anchored on the fact that South Africa continues to find value in the relevance of the discussions in this conference to its journey of developing resilient water and sanitation services to the people of South Africa.

This year’s conference is anchored on the theme “Water for People and Progress”, is aligned to South Africa’s efforts to ensure equitable access to water and sanitation.

The South African Water Sector theme for this year’s exhibition, “Water of Resilient People, Inclusive Prosperity” encapsulates South Africa’s commitment to ensuring that our citizens and their communities have fair and sustained access to safe water and sanitation and further cements the importance of this annual platform in championing cooperation across the global water and sanitation sector and national boundaries.
