*6th Session of the RSA-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC) - 20-21 May 2026*

Minister Pemmy Majodina is in Gaborone, Botswana to attend and participate at the 6th Session of the RSA-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC) taking place on 20-21 May 2026.

Minister Majodina will join President Cyril Ramaphosa and other South African Ministers in attendance of the BNC.

During two days, Minister Majodina and her Botswana counterpart, Minister of Land and Water Affairs, Mr Onneetse Ramogapi will engage on the ongoing transboundary water resources cooperation and sign a Memorandum of Agreement on the joint Water Quality Monitoring in the Limpopo River, and consider progress on the joint feasibility study on Lesotho-Botswana Water Transfer. The Study seeks to determine the possibility of water trasfer from Lesotho Lowlands to Botswana through South Africa.

The two day session was preceded by Senior Officials meeting from both countries which started on Sunday, 17th to today to jointly agree on the recommended decisions for approval by Ministers and the two Heads of State.
