MEDIA STATEMENT
YOUR FUTURE IS YOURS TO BUILD — MAKE IT COUNT!
Date: 09 October 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The United Progressive People Alliance (UPPA) wishes the Matric Class of 2026 every success as learners participate in today’s National Pledge-Signing Ceremony, an important milestone as they prepare for their final examinations.
Today is more than a ceremony; it is a declaration of commitment, discipline, perseverance and responsibility. It is a moment for learners to reaffirm their dedication to their education, their dreams and the future they aspire to build.
UPPA recognises the hard work, sacrifices and determination that have brought the Class of 2026 this far. We acknowledge the role played by teachers, parents, guardians and communities in supporting these young people throughout their educational journey.
To every matriculant, remember that your circumstances do not define your potential, and your challenges do not determine your destiny. Believe in yourself, remain focused, manage your time wisely and approach your examinations with confidence and courage.
South Africa’s future depends on the opportunities we create for our young people and the support we give them to succeed. Every learner deserves access to quality education, a fair opportunity to realise their potential and the chance to contribute meaningfully to our country’s development.
As UPPA, we remain committed to advocating for quality education, improved learning conditions and a future in which no young person is left behind.
To the Matric Class of 2026: Good luck, stay focused, and give it your very best. May your hard work yield outstanding results and may this milestone open doors to greater opportunities.
Your dreams matter. Your future matters. South Africa needs you.
Let’s build, let’s fix, let’s heal.
