Best Care Emergency Medical Service responded to a single-vehicle collision earlier this afternoon.

Upon arrival, Best Care paramedics, with support from the Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit driven by Chery Centurion, treated one critically injured patient at the scene.

Sadly, despite all efforts, the patient succumbed to their injuries and was declared deceased on scene.

The patient was rapidly assessed and treated by our Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit, driven by Chery Centurion, before being safely transported by APA to a private hospital for further care.

Last night, Best Care Emergency Medical Service was activated for a potential mountain rescue involving a female hiker reported missing in the Magalies Mountains. Information received indicated that the patient had become stranded in the mountain area for approximately three to four hours.

A coordinated search operation was initiated, with responding teams navigating difficult terrain and low-light conditions to locate the patient safely. The female was successfully tracked down and brought to safety without further incident.

Mountain rescue operations remain complex due to terrain, visibility challenges, and communication limitations, making inter-agency cooperation essential in ensuring successful outcomes.

Best Care Emergency Medical Services would like to extend sincere appreciation to CRG Moot, Emergency Support EST - Emergency Support Team, Proshield Security, and Tshwane Fire Brigade Services for their valuable assistance and teamwork during this operation.

Earlier today, Best Care Emergency Medical Service together with the Advanced Life Support & Cardiac Unit driven proudly by Chery Centurion, responded to an emergency involving a two-year-old child who fell into a swimming pool and experienced a near drowning incident.

On arrival, the child presented with a decreased level of consciousness and cyanosis (blue discolouration of the skin indicating lack of oxygen). Immediate treatment and assessment were initiated by the attending paramedic, after which the child regained consciousness and showed improvement on scene. The patient was thereafter privately transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and monitoring.

The incident was consistent with a dry near drowning event, where airway spasm can temporarily restrict breathing even when little water enters the lungs. Medical observation remains important after any drowning-related incident, even if the child appears improved.

Best Care Emergency Medical Services extends sincere appreciation to the EST - Emergency Support Team for their assistance and response, as well as Maximum Security for their support on scene. Effective teamwork remains essential during paediatric emergencies. 🤝🚑

Best Care Emergency Medical Service was activated to a patient with chest pains and weakness in Sinoville. On arrival the ambulance crew identified abnormalities on the patient's electrocardiogram (ECG). The crew activated the Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit driven by Chery Centurion.

The Paramedic on the Cardiac Unit did a comprehensive assessment using the technology on its vehicle made available by its various partners. With the patient's history of an Aortic Aneurysm, one partner stands out, Zebra Medical. The availability of the Butterfly Network, Inc IQ3 Ultrasound enabled the Paramedic to do a quality bedside cardiac scan and an in-depth assessment.

The patient was treated on scene and stabilised prior transport. We wish the patient a speedy recovery and extend our gratitude to our team for their professionalism and care.

Best Care Emergency Medical Service was activated to a snakebite incident in Jan Niemand Park this afternoon. A person was bitten on the arm by a Black Mamba. The incident took place at Rynoue, just North of Pretoria on the way to the Roodeplaat dam, but the patient was rushed to Pretoria by family.

The Advanced Life Support and Cardiac Unit, proudly driven by Chery Centurion, was activated and was the first medical service provider on scene. The Advanced Life Support paramedic noted that a tourniquet had been applied by a PVES First Responder and commended him for his efforts.

The patient began showing increasing signs of deterioration and was subsequently medically sedated and placed on a mechanical ventilator. Thanks to Medicare Hospital Equipment for the use of the Weinmann Transport Ventilator, which contributed significantly to patient care.

The patient was transported as a priority to Unitas Emergency Department, where a full ECMO team was on standby for potential ECPR and advanced critical care. Antivenom was administered and the patient is currently admitted to ICU.
