On the occasion of Republic Day, we present “Le donne della Repubblica”, by Ansa: an exhibition tracing 80 years of women’s achievements in Italy, from 1946 to today. Through 122 photographs, the exhibition documents the long road of struggles and milestones in the recognition of women’s rights.

📍 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) celebrates, as it does every year, Africa Day: an opportunity to promote inclusion, personal growth, and dialogue among different cultures, strengthening the bond between Italy and the African continent.
“Africa is a continent rich in extraordinary resources, and our commitment is to make Italian expertise available through mutually beneficial agreements,” Minister Antonio Tajani stated today during the event “Italy-Africa: Cultures in Play – Sport as a Means of Encounter, Dialogue, Identity and Sustainable Growth”, organized in collaboration with Fondazione Treccani Cultura, Istituto per il Dialogo Italia-Africa, and Agenzia ICE. The Minister also emphasized that development cooperation means investing together to create shared opportunities and an increasingly strong partnership between Italy and Africa.
The initiative was also an opportunity to share and celebrate the stories of athletes, sports leaders, and sports organizations engaged in cooperation between the two regions, through projects dedicated to young people, education, and social inclusion.
🌍 From sport to agriculture, through the Mattei Plan and humanitarian initiatives such as Italy for Sudan, Italy continues to promote pathways of concrete collaboration with its African partners—from business forums to sports training programmes and scholarships dedicated to young talent. Sport has always been a powerful tool for culture, dialogue, and education, capable of creating new opportunities and strengthening ties.

This year's programme brings together 58 films from 33 countries, across 113 screenings, alongside a rich industry programme featuring post-screening panels, masterclasses, workshops, and the renowned Encounters Talks. This selection is a reminder that even in difficult times, documentary has the power to inspire resistance, deepen understanding, and imagine new possibilities for the future.
