America is forging ahead with a new G20.

This week, the United States convened a successful G20 Sherpa meeting in Washington, and welcomed participation from Poland. Under President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. is returning the G20 back to its core economic agenda to deliver real economic results.

As the United States ushers in much-needed reforms to the G20, the Trump Administration has three clear goals:

🇿🇦 | South Africa’s presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) for 2025 has been a major boost for Africa’s development agenda and the voice of the Global South. Over 130 meetings hosted by our nine provinces, tourism and small business had opportunities to thrive; civil society had a platform, it was G20 of the people in the true spirit of ubuntu.

There are many highlights from South Africa’s presidency that will be the catalyst to a better South Africa, a better Africa in a better world.

All the best to the United States as they take the baton from 01 December 2025 until 30 November 2026.

The Finance Track led Task Forces that delivered several notable improvements, including the G20 Africa Engagement
Framework (AEF), the International Finance Architecture Working Group, G20 Africa Engagement Framework, implementation of the Common Framework for Debt Treatments and the Africa Expert Panel.
