Dr Makhafola added that the courage, determination and willingness that the learners in 1976 showed to stand up for what they believed in changed the course of our country’s history. “We gather not only to honour their memory but also to reaffirm our collective responsibility to ensure that education remains a powerful tool for empowerment, opportunity and social transformation, he said.”
Dr Makhafola concluded by saying that: “As you visit the exhibition stalls today, make informed choices grounded in credible information and trusted institutions. Together, we can build a society in which every young person is empowered to realise their full potential.”
