TMPD K9 UNIT ARRESTED NOTORIOUS DRUG DEALER IN PRETORIA NORTH
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) K9 Unit arrested an African male suspect for possession of drugs(crystal m**h) following a targeted operation in Pretoria North on Monday 22 June 2026.
The arrest came after information was received about drug-related activities in the area. K9 members were strategically deployed and identified a suspect matching the description provided.
He was approached and a search was conducted, discovering drugs in his possession. Further questioning led the police to a nearby residential property in which more drugs were discovered.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the local police station, pending his court appearance facing charges of possession of and dealing in drugs.

TSHWANE METRO POLICE IMPOUNDS 19 PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES
On 19 June 2026, the TMPD Public Transport Unit conducted an operation at various locations in Pretoria, focusing on visible policing, vehicle inspections, and the issuing of fines for contraventions of the law.
The operation was conducted at Eeufees Road, the Ben Schoeman Freeway, and the corners of Sophie de Bruyn and Madiba streets. During the operation, members successfully impounded 17 e-hailing vehicles and two minibus taxis for operating without valid operating licences and for non-compliance with the National Land Transport Act.
The TMPD maintains a zero tolerance approach to non-compliance on our roads and urges all public transport operators to adhere to the provisions of the National Road Traffic Act and the National Land Transport Act. Compliance will help prevent vehicle impoundments and contribute to safer roads by reducing the risk of road crashes and fatalities.

Tshwane Metro Police Department takes head on action against criminal activities in Tshwane
On 18 June 2026, members of the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Cable Theft Unit were conducting road policing enforcement and visibility patrols along Vanderhoof Street in Pretoria West when they spotted a suspicious Ford Focus parked at a scrapyard.
Upon conducting a stop and search procedure, members discovered a white sack containing copper cables. The suspect was immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cables. The vehicle was also impounded and booked in at SAPS 13 Pretoria West, as it was allegedly used in the commission of a crime.
In a separate incident, TMPD Drug Unit members arrested an African male in Pretoria North for possession of suspected crystal m**hamphetamine.All arrested suspects were detained at their respective local police stations.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department will continue to intensify law enforcement operations to safeguard municipal infrastructure and protect communities against unlawful criminal activities.

THE TSHWANE METRO POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPOUNDED 58 PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES DURING ROAD SAFETY OPERATIONS ACROSS TSHWANE
The TMPD Public Transport, Task Team, and Taxi Unit impounded 58 public transport vehicles, including taxis, scholar transport and e-hailing services for non-compliance with the National Land Transport Act (NLTA) during road safety operations conducted across the city from the beginning of the week to today, 18 June 2026.
These ongoing operations are an essential part of the department commitment to curb lawlessness and ensure the safety of commuters and other road users.
It is crucial for public transport operators to adhere to road traffic regulations in order to save lives and avoid impoundment of their vehicles. The TMPD will not leave any stone unturned when it comes to enforcement of the law in the City of Tshwane.

TMPD ARRESTED 20 UNDOCUMENTED FOREIGN NATIONALS IN CENTURION
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) in Centurion arrested 20 undocumented foreign nationals for contravening the Immigration Act 13 of 2002 by being in the country illegally on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.
The individuals were arrested during a by-laws enforcement operation, which was conducted at Raslouw, Heuweloord and Hennopspark.
These operations are part of the departmental strategic plan aimed at ensuring that all residents of the City of Tshwane are abiding by the laws and regulations set forth in the constitution of the country.
The TMPD remains resolute in upholding the rule of law and maintaining the safety and security of all individuals within its jurisdiction.
