~Knowledge is Power ~

We have become increasingly aware of the prevalence of Domestic Violence in all circles of society, the lack of knowledge about Domestic Violence and how it is defined, the lack of knowledge with respect to the rights of and remedies available to victims of Domestic Violence, and the fact that abuse thrives only in silence. Victims often share similar uncertainties and have similar questions. Our ideal is to address typical questions, without anybody even having to ask the question, that is, by providing information usually required by victims. We believe that knowledge is power and our aim is to help turn victims in to victors. The more you know, the less vulnerable you feel. Members are also invited to ask questions, albeit via inbox, should confidentiality be an issue. Such question will then be posted anonymously by Admin and answered as best we can on the page. We believe that this should assist others facing the same dilemma, but who do not have the courage to ask the question. In some instances information and advice will be sufficient, however, should circumstances necessitate, e.g. imminent threat of harm or physical abuse, the victim would be advised to approach court or an attorney in his/her area for assistance.
