The Municipality is aware that some areas are currently experiencing power outages due to inclement weather conditions.

Municipal teams have been dispatched to investigate the faults, and power has already been restored in some areas.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience while our teams work to restore supply.

Installation of Smart Meters resumes

NOTICE OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY INTERRUPTION

Please be advised that due to a motor vehicle accident in Hangklip Road that occurred last night, damage was sustained to an electricity pole resulting in overhead cables falling to the ground.

As a safety precaution, the affected supply line was isolated and switched off.

The municipal electrical team will repair the damage today.

Residents are urged to treat all cables as live and keep a safe distance.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will restore supply as soon as possible.

CALL FOR INFORMAL TRADERS/SMMEs

Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, in partnership with the Eastern Cape Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT), invites informal traders and SMMEs to apply for funding through the Informal Business Support Programme (IBSP).

IBSP forms are available at the EMLM IPED Gardens Clinic Offices in Komani. All completed forms must be returned to the same offices on or before 30 October 2026 at 12h00.

No late applications will be accepted.

UNPLANNED POWER OUTAGE – MOLTENO

A faulty breaker at the substation has caused a power interruption affecting the entire town of Molteno.

The technical Services team is currently engaging with Eskom to facilitate the restoration of electricity as soon as possible.

The Council of the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, family, colleagues and community members, gathered today at Telecenter, Machibini, to honour the life and dedicated service of the late Cllr. Vuyiseka Mkefa.

The memorial service provided an opportunity to reflect on her life, acknowledge her contribution to public service and pay tribute to the legacy she leaves behind.
